Guest Bandleader Antoine Dowdell Joins the Oct. 24 Art Seen Program at LEiB Designs

On Mon., Oct. 24 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, LEiB Designs (444 West 50^th St., NYC) hosts Art Seen program featuring topics on artistry from my textbook The Elements of Creative and Expressive Artistry: A Philosophy for Creating Everything Artistic (www.ElementsOfArtistry.net). The upcoming program focuses on “Form” and its elemental importance to the field of artistry.

Antoine Dowdell Group at Paris Blues

Joining the program is Antoine Dowdell of the Antoine Dowdell Group. As mainstay performers at Harlem’s Paris Blues for the past five years, a club founded in 1969, The Antoine Dowdell Group reinterprets jazz standards with masterful abandonment, jubilance, sauciness, and a pulsing relentless groove.” When I attended the band’s performance yesterday, there was only standing room only. Antoine Dowdell acknowledges that his journey as a successful bandleader has only come to fruition through discipline, sacrifice, and finding like-minded members who share a passion of producing great music.

At the conclusion of the event, I will be signing copies of my softcover textbook on expressive artistry for $27.00 (usually $33.95) and you can meet bandleader Antoine Dowdell. Event moderator is G.
