Art Helix Hosts Art Seen Featuring Artists Brian K. Hemphill and Robin Antar

On Tues., Sept. 13 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, ArtHelix Gallery will host its Art Seen program featuring topics on artistry from my textbook The Elements of Creative and Expressive Artistry: A Philosophy for Creating Everything Artistic (www.ElementsOfArtistry.net). I will be discussing the nine root elements that foster expressive artistry in all artistic disciplines as detailed in my textbook.

I’m always excited to meet other creative artists and share my research and findings. This knowledge is fundamental to the work of seasoned and emerging artists as well as those interested in deepening their appreciation for artistry.

As a New York-born author and artist, I am particularly excited to be presenting my work at Art Helix Gallery located in Brooklyn.

Joining me on the program  is Brooklyn sculptor Robin Antar who uses stone to create sculptures that express emotion and feeling (www.rantar.com). New York Daily News reporter Joyce Shelby described the sculptor this way: “Antar specializes in recreating everyday items we know and love or just take for granted. In the process, she becomes Brooklyn’s answer to Andy Warhol” (Mar 27, 2007).

At the conclusion of the event, I will be signing copies of my softcover textbook on expressive artistry for $27.00 (usually $33.95) and you can meet sculptor Robin Antar.

Event moderator G. Anthony Williams outlines the Sept. 13 Art Seen Program as follows:
• Meet & mingle/networking (30 mins.)
• Panel discussion (30 mins.)
• Audience Q&A (30 mins)
• Book signing with Brian K. Hemphill and meetup with artist Robin Antar (30 mins.)

Moderator Williams stated he enjoys moderating lively, insightful panel discussions.” The event will be videotaped and broadcasted on Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) and Brooklyn Public Network (BPN/BRIC). Refreshments will be served. Additionally, ArtHelix will provide a cash bar.

ArtHelix Gallery is at 289 Meserole St., Brooklyn, NY 11206. Located in the Bushwick section, the gallery presents solo and group art exhibitions and hosts lectures, and other cultural events. ArtHelix intends to create a meta-art space, a place where art is not only displayed and offered for sale, but also where it can be openly discussed and challenged, a hub or “helix” from which culture can be reimagined. (Train commuters should disembark at the Montrose Ave. stop of the L train.)
